  • Director of the FIRST department of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Liver Transplantation in country and neighbouring countries.  
  • Provides comprehensive (A-Z ) care in all issues related to GI and liver diseases in children and adolescents such as endoscopy, both diagnostic and therapeutic in newborns and children, pH monitoring, manometry, motility studies, MARS (molecular adsorption recirculating system) endo-ultrasound, capsule endoscopy, liver biopsy.  
  • State of the Art services are available for Pediatric Liver Diseases. Facilities exist for investigating and managing all liver diseases including viral hepatitis C, B, metabolic liver diseases, genetic diseases, cholestatic liver disease, portal hypertension and end stage liver diseases. 
  • Dr. Neelam Mohan runs the busiest is a pioneer in setting up the liver transplant programme in the country. Her transplant unit has performed >650 liver transplants. It’s the busiest centre in India and neighbouring countries and offers highest level of liver care. Facility for transplantation of small babies <8kg are also available. They also have experience for combined liver kidney transplantation 

 Her Unit is credited with several firsts in the field of liver transplantation in children :-  

  • First successful Pediatric Cadaveric reduced Liver transplant in India - 2003 
  • First successful survival of liver transplant in a Fulminant hepatic failure in a child in India. - 2004 
  • First Bloodless liver transplant in the India - 2005 
  • First successful Combined Liver and Kidney transplant from 2 live donors in a case of Primary hyperoxaluria type –1 in South Asia - 2007 
  • First Pediatric acute liver failure patient who could be successfully airlifted and liver transplanted in India. March 2007 
  • Youngest Domino liver transplantation in documented literature in the World (Donor – 22 months old MSUD patient. Recipient –33months old girl with biliary cirrhosis with secondary to sclerosing cholangitis). January 2009.  
  • First Swap liver transplantation in the India ( 17 month old Nigerian child c/ o biliary cirrhosis) , 26/6/09 
  • She started the first training programme in Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Liver transplantation in country (Indian Academy of Pediatrics accredited )
